This knowledge base explains how the Compass Enrolments module works
in version 2 Pro and explains the differences between Ancestry/leaf
schools (This is CENET), stand-alone/independent schools and region-specific
implementations such as the UK. The module covers the student journey
from expressions of interest through to admission, fee collection and
post-enrolment management. The steps in this article will assist you in your relevant school portal.

Expression of Interest Tab
Expressions of Interest (EOI) is the front-end of the enrolment pipeline. It allows prospective families to register their interest in attending the school before a formal application. EOIs can be collected via the public portal at https://<school-portal>.compass.education/eoi. This link will be available to you once you have configured the enrolment form.
Adding an Expression of Interest (EOI)
Publishing the EOI form – At network/head portals or stand-alone
schools, administrators will enable the EOI form and customise
instructions to parents.
Leaf portals within an Ancestry network usually inherit
the form from the network. UK schools may have region-specific fields
(e.g., local authority) pre-populated. Parents or carers complete the
form on the public EOI URL.
Review EOIs – Submitted EOIs appear in the Expressions of
Interest tab for staff with enrolment permissions. Staff can filter the
list by year level, status or date received.
Managing EOIs – Staff may archive or decline expressions that are
no longer relevant, particularly if a family has submitted multiple
EOIs.
Once a parent claims an invitation, the EOI record is marked as claimed and
the applicant’s full application appears in the Applications tab.
Administrators can then continue the assessment process
Invite to apply – Select one or more EOIs and choose Invite to
apply. This generates a personalised invitation email containing a
unique link. The invitation’s behaviour differs by portal environment:
Stand-alone/independent schools – The invitation link
creates a full application form and automatically adds a student
profile once the parent claims it.
Ancestry/leaf networks – Invitations are generated from the
network portal. Leaf schools cannot individually customise the
EOI invitation but may monitor when parents claim the link.
UK Schools – Invitations may include statutory wording (e.g.,
references to local authority co-ordinated admissions). The core
behaviour is the same: the parent claims the link and creates an
application and associated student profile.
